Alma 37:6
I have my first real talk in church on Sunday and let me tell you I am scared out of my wits! So, what do I do instead of preparing for this? Blog of course! I'm trying to tell myself that it will be fine and that I have a good topic. My topic is basically summed up in Alma 37:6 "By Small and simple things are great things brought to pass". By small and simple I mean the Primary answers: daily prayer and scripture study, attending church, doing your visiting/home teaching, etc. The little stuff. Good topic, don't ya think? I really do love my new ward and the people in it, but public speaking is not my forte. No time to learn like the present, I guess.

BBQ
My roommates and I decided to have a bbq at our new home. We had this bbq on a not-so sunny day, but we made it work. It was BYOB or Bring Your Own Beef (not the other one... don't fret, we did not have beer.). The men were assigned to bring the beef (or any other meat that they chose to bring) and the women were in charge of sides. The hostesses provided the beverages. It was quite the enjoyable shindig. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the evening.

Sarah and Ben. I just thought it was adorable. :)
Meggsie... just being Meggsie
This is Jessica's crying face...
Three of the roomies at the end of the night... cute, huh?

Movin' on Up
So, I recently moved out of the dorms and into a house/duplex. The moving part was a pain, but it's been about a week and it's finally looking like a house. The best part: My three fabulous roommates! Let me tell you, these girls are amazing! Let me introduce them.
First off, there is Jaycee. She is a music major and is the "mother" of the group. If she had her way we would probably be in bed by 11 every night. Luckily, she doesn't always get her way. :) She is beginning to tolerate well the craziness that ensues on an almost nightly basis. Sadly, she is only here on weekends and Tuesdays because she is living at home so she can work the other days.
Next, is Shannon. Or Shanaynay, or one of many other nicknames that have evolved in the past week or so. She is hoot and a half! Her wit causes many outbursts of laughter in any situation. She and I are taking two classes together this summer and I am grateful because she is very smart and will be able to help me through this horrendous summer semester.
Last, but most definitely not least is Sarah. She is my actual room roommate. She is basically amazing. She is the spiritual strength in our home. She instigates roommate prayer and her wisdom helps us all in getting through our many challenges. (I know it's only been a week, but we have had a few.) Her ability to work hard and play equally hard have helped unify us all and bring us together. Also, she knows me really well and is able to tell when I'm in one of my moods and how to get me out of my head. Yeah, she's pretty much the best.
That's right, you should all be jealous of who I get to live with. Now enjoy two pictures from this fabulous first week of living together.
